I recently made an application to Capital One and got declined, however at the time i was not on the Electoral Register would this be the reason for their decision? Also I’m 22 and have not credit or debt but want to build up a good credit score, however cause i have never had credit i can’t get credit, Does anyone have any tips to share?

Ok. Basically, we have some unpaid medical bills. The hospital wants their money paid in full, or for us to apply for a loan from City National Bank and make monthly payments.
I really don’t want to apply for the loan in my name, as I feel I am maxed and any additional loans may hurt my credit. My wife isn’t working, but she does babysit sometimes for money. The application is really simple, it asks for employer and estimated monthly income. Could she get financed with “babysitter” as employer? Or “self-employed”? She has never had credit before, no credit card, nothing. So is it worth a try? Should I just get the loan in my name and work on her credit through a pre-paid card or something? Thanks!

Hi, Im trying to apply for a DISCOVER or AMERICAN EXPRESS credit card and im a student. On the application it makes you choose your school but I go to a junior college and its not there, I found that both discover and american express dont have junior colleges on their list. Does anyone know why this is? Do they not accept junior colleges valid for their student credit cards?

I know of none. I know for loans there are co-signers. Now I know if you are trying to establish credit or restore your credit. you can open a secured credit card account. What this is, you open a savings account with that card company and that is what your credit card amount will be.

Well not actually in cash, but I have some money saved and have taken out a personal loan, so I have all the money to buy the car. I go to the dealer, work out a price and get ready to fill in the paperwork and the first thing they hand me is a credit application. When I reminded them it was cash and I didn’t want to fill out a credit application I was told “it is required to verify identity due to changes in the Homeland security laws from 9/11″. Now this seemed reasonable, but when I review the application it says nothing about Homeland security, and what it does say is that I am applying for credit to buy a car and it further says they can check my employment and bank accounts and credit anytime they want, essentially forever, and market items to me based on the information that it contains.
1)Is it required to verify someones identity when they buy a new car? 2) Do I have to sign this credit application, or is there some other form I can use if it is required? Thanks!

I am recently unemployed, i was shopping and was offered a 10% discount for opening a Credit application, without realizing i applied for it and was asked what is my annual income, i put the same number i was making a few weeks ago, the application rejected and i realized what i had done, and further the bank was the same as i had the account where i deposit my unemployment cheques, i am afraid they will find out and put something in my credit history, i am also not sure if to deposit my future cheques with the same bank, but i have already deposit one before i applied for the credit. Is there a way they will figure out what i have done and affect my credit history, also should i rather not worry and keep depositing the cheques with the same bank
